Terry Hay of New Zealand is retired, twice, from a long and successful career as an entrepreneur. He established the Kamaaina Distribution Company in Hawaii right out of college, guided it to prosperity, and retired – for the first time – in 1987. He returned with Fresh Developments in New Zealand a few years later, bought an existing flight catering business in 1996, and sold it twelve years later. That brought on retirement #2. So far, it’s lasted.
Now Terry Hay of New Zealand travels all over the world. He insists he doesn’t have a favorite destination, but concedes to being particularly fond of the tropics – especially Hawaii. He moved there in Hawaii after college, and it’s where he watched the Kamaaina Distribution Company flourish. Terry Hay of New Zealand enjoys Hawaii’s laid back culture, beautiful scenery, and unique identity. But what he loves best about Hawaii is its vegetation industry.
Terry Hay of New Zealand also appreciates Hawaii’s agriculture. He loves being able to get fresh tropical fruits and vegetables from farms across the islands and firmly believes in supporting local agricultural projects.
Terry Hay of New Zealand also looks forward to his trips to the southwestern Pacific Ocean, and the island country of New Zealand. One of his past business enterprises was headquartered in Auckland, the former capital. Terry Hay of New Zealand also enjoys the country’s emerging wine industry. Winemakers began experimenting with New Zealand grapes as early as 1836. Terry Hay of New Zealand loves the specialized wines that come from the country’s ten major wine regions. He is convinced that some New Zealand’s wines are unmatched by many of its European and American competitors.
Terry Hay of New Zealand recognizes the merits of many of the world’s great cultures. Terry Hay of New Zealand says he will continue to travel throughout his retirement, and looks forward to future adventures.
